Build workshops are for members to build, repair, and prep rockets for launch. Workshops are free for members of NEST and/or the rocketry club. Experienced builders may bring their own rockets or design and build using rocket parts we provide. New or beginner level builders will be offered beginner level kits to purchase from us at the workshop. Youth and members get your first rocket for free!
On Saturdays, open members time is usually 9 am to 6 pm.
The Youth Inventors Workshop meets on Saturday mornings with assistance from volunteers who have mechanical and/or electronics engineering experience. Youth with an interest in inventing or becoming an entrepreneur are welcome. Mentoring is informal and unstructured - this is not a class. Students must be motivated and have some goals or ideas they want help with.
On Sundays, open members time is usually 12:30-3:30 pm.

Students will learn how to solder electronic circuits and build an FM radio receiver to keep.
For many students, ham radio is a gateway into STEM careers such as Electrical Engineering, Space Exploration (many NASA astronauts are licensed amateur radio operators!), Emergency Management, Radio Systems Specialist, Aerospace Engineering, Medical Fields such as X-ray/MRI technicians.

We launch at the Acton Fields on certain Saturdays from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm on dates when we can join the CMASS club launches. Sometimes we rent the Acton fields on Friday afternoons 3-5 pm or Sundays noon-3 pm.

This event is free and open to the public on many Friday evenings, weather permitting. Children are welcome, however they must be supervised by parents at all times. Optional: BYO binoculars, warm jacket, hand sanitizer, bug repellent.
On some occasions we may be able to offer a free Planetarium Show during this time.
