Workshop: Intro to Java Coding

(Quicklink: https://nescitech.org/java)

For students in grades 4-9, join a new interactive workshop in Java coding with Neil Badgujar and Saumya Ahuja, assisted by Arnav, all student instructors at NEST.

In these hands-on workshops, students will explore the fundamentals of programming through interactive coding activities, real-world applications, and fun projects. Each workshop introduces new concepts and challenges, helping students build a strong foundation in Java so they can go from writing simple programs to understanding how Java is used to code robots and other technologies.

By the end of these workshops, students will be able to apply core programming concepts independently and create their own fun Java projects.

THREE-Week workshop --
Saturdays, May 9, 16, and 30, 1:00 - 2:00 pm

Java's advantages include platform independence (Write Once, Run Anywhere) via the JVM, a vast ecosystem (libraries/frameworks), strong security, robust object-oriented (OOP) structure for reusable/modular code, automatic memory management (garbage collection), and exceptional scalability for enterprise apps, supported by a massive, active developer community, making it ideal for web, mobile (Android), big data, and IoT applications.

The THREE-Week Java Coding workshop is FREE for members, $20 for non-members.

Class size is limited to 8 students. Register only your child's name, but parents are encouraged to attend with their child for free. Bring your own computer (preferred) or use one of ours. You will receive instructions to install a java compiler.

Workshop: Saturdays, May 9, 16, 30, 1:00-2:00 pm

(Registration will open April 1, 6 am)
