Planetarium Operations Training

For High School students who are interested in astronomy and would like to gain community service hours as a volunteer at Public Telescope Nights, after school programs, or summer workshops. This training can be scheduled at mutually agreeable times.

Would you like to learn how to run planetarium shows? Using our 5-meter inflatable planetarium we will take you through start to finish setting up, running shows, and closing down. Learn how to align the projector, run the multimedia show software, and direct audiences. It is easy to run one of our professional multimedia shows for an audience.  If you love astronomy and want to learn, we can show you how to run the live Stellarium star shows and narrate a tour through the night sky, showing stars and planets, constellations, nebulae, and galaxies. These you can practice at home on your own computer. When you are comfortable and knowledgeable, we can let you run shows at New England Sci-Tech as a volunteer.

See the planetarium pages for more information about shows: Public Planetarium Nights at Sci-Tech and Planetarium Shows List.
